FC Chur is proud to announce the launch of the Collectiv da Ballapei Cuira, a long-term regional football initiative that will formally begin its activities in July 2040. Under the leadership of club president Semir Chiesa, this project represents a transformative step in the development of football within the canton of Graubünden, uniting senior, female, and development football under a shared vision built on Alpine resilience, regional identity, and collective progress. The initiative reflects the club’s enduring belief that sustainable success grows from strong foundations, shared knowledge, and equal opportunity for all players, and it establishes a clear pathway for talent to flourish at every level of the game.

At the centre of this structure stands FC Chur, continuing its role as the flagship performance environment within the collective. Alongside the men’s first team, FC Chur Frauen will form an equal pillar of the initiative, bringing elite women’s football to the region and playing home matches at Obere Au. By creating a parallel professional environment for female players, the collective reinforces its commitment to inclusivity, excellence, and regional identity, ensuring that talented women have the same access to development, competitive opportunity, and professional standards as their male counterparts. Together, these two pillars embody the principle that football in Graubünden can grow sustainably through ambition, unity, and shared philosophy.
Supporting this dual foundation, FC Grischun will join the collective as a regional partner club based in Landquart, providing an important competitive environment focused on the transition from youth football into the senior game. With Landquart FC’s ongoing financial issues, they have joined the group to seek financial stability, and, as part of that, have agreed to the renaming. FC Grischun will offer young players opportunities to gain match experience while continuing their progression within the shared football philosophy of the collective. Its role as a development environment complements both FC Chur and FC Chur Frauen, ensuring that the next generation of players is nurtured within consistent tactical principles, professional culture, and a framework built on Alpine resilience.
The Collectiv da Ballapei Cuira will also strengthen its regional cooperation through strategic partnerships with external clubs and development networks, designed to broaden opportunities while maintaining a clear focus on Graubünden. These collaborations reflect the belief that football grows strongest when communities work together, and that each partner can maintain its unique identity while contributing to the wider success of the collective. Through coordinated strategies, shared development principles, and long-term planning, the structure ensures sustainable growth across every facet of the game, from youth development to elite competition.
President Semir Chiesa described the initiative as a defining step in FC Chur’s long-term vision, emphasising that the club’s strength has always been rooted in its connection to the region and its responsibility toward the future of football in Graubünden. He highlighted that the collective embodies a commitment to opportunity, resilience, and excellence, creating an environment where players of all genders can develop their skills, embrace responsibility, and represent the region with pride. “This is a project built on trust, patience, and shared ambition,” he stated. “Through the Collectiv da Ballapei Cuira, we invest in people, in pathways, and in the sporting future of Graubünden, ensuring that football progress is strongest when built collectively.”
Beginning in July 2040, the Collectiv da Ballapei Cuira will stand as a symbol of FC Chur’s dedication to long-term development, regional cooperation, and equal opportunity for all players. By combining the flagship men’s and women’s teams, the development environment of FC Grischun, and a network of regional partners, the collective creates a coherent structure that embodies the principles of Alpine resilience, shared vision, and sustainable progress, reinforcing FC Chur’s role as a steward of football development in Graubünden for generations to come.
