GREAT NEWS!! Facepacks work just fine in FM26, and in this post I will show you how to add the faces you have downloaded from the FMUGen MegaPack and subsequent Update Packs. Firstly you will need to download the MegaPack if you havent already done so. You can do so here

Once downloaded copy the MegaPack to the FM graphics folder, this will be located for most people “C:\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 26\graphics” (if there is no graphics folder, simply create one).

This of course depends on where you install the game, for example mine is on a seperate hard drive so my path is “E:\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 26\graphics\faces” (I made another folder called faces to store all facepacks I use)

Open the MegaPack folder, once open you will notice that there is a config file at the bottom, select this and right click – then open with – and select notepad (or your preferred text app) it will look like this and have 2 example code lines, you can use these to copy, paste and edit when manually adding to the game.

Now you will need to go to FM26 and navigate to the Options, then turn on Skinning ID

Once that has done you will notice the player ID numbers are now visable next to their names.

Now go to the MegaPack and find the face you want to use for the NewGen for this example we will use image UP13CAUC270 from the Caucasian folder.

Copy the picture name and remember which ethnicity folder it is from. Then ensuring the spelling of both the folder and the image are identical, and input them into the config as below.

Now in FM26 get the player/staff ID number and add this to the config as per below, remember you need the r- in front of the number or it will not work.

Do this for all the players and/or staff you want, and save the config file.

Unlike previous versions of FM, FM26 does not have a Clear Cache button, instead it does this everytime you restart the game (currently, this may change). So restart the game, load up your save, and enjoy the newgens new look!

This works on FM24 also accept you would need to click the Clear Cache button and Reload Skin button in Preferences.

This pack is set up to work with the current FM24 version of the NewGan tool however we have nothing to do with that or how it works etc so can’t advise on isses, or if it will be released for FM26.

You can also add faces to real players and staff that may not have faces in any megapacks.
Simply follow the same process but remove the “r-” before the player id.
