FC Chur is pleased to formally announce the release of its new home and away kits for the 2035/36 season, marking the club’s first campaign in the Swiss Super League.

The new kits are produced in partnership with Joma, who join the club as official technical manufacturer. Founded in Spain in 1965, Joma has built a strong international reputation through its long-standing commitment to football, athletics and professional team sport. Known for combining technical innovation with durability and functional design, Joma has worked extensively with clubs competing at the highest levels of European football while maintaining a clear focus on collective identity rather than individual marketing. This philosophy closely aligns with FC Chur’s values of organisation, resilience and long-term development.

The new range consists of three distinct designs, each reflecting a core element of the club’s identity. The home kit is presented in metallic gold, featuring the principal sponsor set within the outline of the Canton of Graubünden. This design places the club symbolically at the heart of the canton and reinforces FC Chur’s role as a representative of regional pride and collective identity. The away kit is finished in alpine green and incorporates a subtle mountainous pattern, referencing the alpine environment that shapes both the club’s character and the conditions in which it competes. The third kit appears in obsidian black with a contemporary graphic pattern, reflecting the club’s forward-looking mindset and its commitment to progression at the highest level of Swiss football. The shirts will be fronted by Chiesa Alpine, the alpine-focused investment and development company owned by club chairman Semir Chiesa. The partnership reflects a continuation of the club’s locally rooted ownership model, with the sponsor representing both regional commitment and sustainable ambition. Chiesa Alpine’s presence on the shirt is intended as a statement of responsibility rather than commercial excess, reinforcing the principle that the club’s growth remains tied to the region it represents.

Alongside the kit launch, FC Chur also confirms the introduction of a new set of Legacy Numbers, created to commemorate promotion to the Swiss Super League and to formally codify the club’s cultural and geographic identity within Swiss football.

26 – Cantons: Switzerland is a federal country composed of 26 cantons. For FC Chur, this number represents belonging to the entire Swiss project rather than to Graubünden alone. It reflects federalism, autonomy and local pride within a national framework, as well as Chur’s historic role as a connector between regions and cultures. While geographically peripheral, the club stands firmly within the complete Swiss story.

33 – Languages: Switzerland officially recognises four national languages, while Graubünden alone contains three: German, Romansh and Italian. The number 33 symbolises multilingual coexistence and Chur’s position as a linguistic meeting point. It represents cultural fluency rather than dominance and mirrors the club’s wider ethos of adaptability, understanding and cohesion across borders, whether linguistic or tactical.

43 – Municipalities: Following administrative reforms, Graubünden currently consists of 43 municipalities. For FC Chur, this number speaks to regional stewardship. It reflects the role of Chur as a capital that serves mountain valleys rather than ruling them, and a responsibility to represent rural and urban Graubünden together. It reinforces the identity of the club as belonging to the canton as a whole, not only the city.

51 – History: The year 51 BC marks the Roman conquest of Raetia and anchors Chur’s claim as the oldest city in Switzerland. This number represents continuity rather than nostalgia, and settlement rather than spectacle. It underlines the idea that Chur does not borrow legitimacy but inherits it, forming a foundational identity rather than a modern branding exercise.

59 – Altitude: Chur sits at 594 metres above sea level. This has been symbolically reduced to 59, representing altitude without arrogance. It reflects physical toughness shaped by environment and the notion that coming to Chur is demanding, just as playing here is. The number quietly feeds into the club’s sporting mythology of resilience, stamina and territorial difficulty.

70 – Postcode: Chur’s postcode begins with 70. This number is deliberately hyper-local and instantly recognisable to residents. It serves as a marker of home rather than heritage tourism, grounding the club in daily life, streets and neighbourhoods rather than abstraction or distant history.

The new kits and legacy numbers together mark a significant milestone for FC Chur. Promotion to the Super League is recognised not as an endpoint, but as a continuation of a longer story rooted in place, responsibility and collective identity. Further details on kit availability and legacy number integration will be communicated through official club channels in due course.
