Statement from Director of Football, Daniel Vega

Club Atlético Huracán can confirm that four players from this year’s youth intake have been offered and have signed full-time professional contracts with the club.

Following an extensive review process conducted by the club’s youth department in conjunction with the first-team sporting staff, it has also been decided that the remaining players from this age group will not be retained. While these decisions are never easy, they are made with honesty, responsibility, and the long-term development of both the players and the club in mind. Huracán would like to thank all those departing for their commitment and professionalism, and we wish them every success in the next stage of their careers.

The four players awarded professional contracts are:

Jeremías Grasso

A 15-year-old, 6-foot-tall dual-footed centre back, Grasso stands out for his physical presence and maturity beyond his years. Strong in the tackle, brave in defensive situations, and comfortable in possession, he represents the modern central defender profile that the club continues to develop.

Matías Moisello

Also 15, Moisello is a 6-foot-2-inch dual-footed centre back with exceptional aerial ability. Aggressive, brave, and highly determined, he combines physical dominance with a relentless work rate and a strong competitive mentality.

Martín Martínez

At 16 years old, Martínez operates as a left wing-back and fits perfectly within the club’s current tactical identity. Dual-footed, quick, aggressive, and determined, he is comfortable on the ball and offers intensity and balance on the flank.

Alexis Benítez

A 15-year-old central midfield playmaker, Benítez is a contrasting but equally exciting profile. Standing at 5 foot 5 inches, he lacks physical strength but compensates with speed, aggression, intelligence, and outstanding technical quality. A natural flair player, he brings creativity and unpredictability in midfield areas.

Commitment to Youth Development

All four players will now join Huracán’s Under-20s setup, where they will continue their development under close supervision from the club’s technical staff, with a clear pathway toward first-team football.

“These contracts represent more than individual reward,” said Daniel Vega.
“They are a reflection of Huracán’s continued commitment to youth development and to building a sustainable future. We are focused on identifying players who not only have talent, but also the mentality, character, and work ethic required to succeed at this club.”

Huracán remains fully committed to its long-term youth policy—developing players internally, providing clear progression pathways, and ensuring that young talent is given the opportunity to grow within the club’s identity and values.

This announcement marks another important step in that journey.
